FBVA BASKETBALL LEAGUE RULES
Guidelines, Violations, and Penalties
Welcome to another exciting season of basketball with FBVA. As you know, the League is a IRS recognized 501-c-3, not for profit, sports
organization managed through mostly volunteer efforts, such as your own. Without your commitment and support to the league’s success, our
children would not have the opportunity to participate in such and organization. The following FBVA rules are in addition to the FHSAA rules
and are required during all FBVA league and end of league game play. They are published here for everyone's convenience.
PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING AT EVERY PRACTICE AND GAME:
- Be a fan – not a fanatic !
- Recognize improvement and hard work.
- Demonstrate positive sport citizenship at All times.
- Support the efforts of other coaches and officials to teach proper sportsmanship.
- Learn the official HS and FBVA rules of the game.
- Respect the other team’s performances despite the outcome. No Coach, Player, Parent, Official or Game is Ever Perfect.
- Demonstrate positive sport citizenship at All times.
- Coaches and or Parents stepping on court during live play is considered a delay of game and is grounds for a technical foul in all sports.
- Prohibit verbal harassment of opponent players, coaches, and officials. Trash talking and foul language will not be tolerated at any
time (towards referees, volunteers, etc.) Any abuse of this rule could result in your immediate dismissal from the gym or League.
- Respect the integrity and decisions of officials, referees decisions are Final in All Sports Programs.
- No one may approach an official before or after a game outside the gym area unless permitted by said official.
It is the responsibility as a coach in this league to enforce and support the mission of FBVA to teach children to respect others through competitive
play. Disrespect, threatening officials, foul or abusive language will NOT be tolerated.
